VENTURA COUNTY, Calif.

A protester set up his beach chair to take back a local beach.

For the past few Sundays, Bruce Boyer invited others to join him on the sand at Hollywood Beach.

Locals said the beach near Oxnard and the Channel Islands Harbor is more crowded now than it ever was before the COVID19 pandemic.

Ventura County Sheriff's Deputies now patrol the beach in off road vehicles.

They drove right past Boyer and his don't tread on me sign and flags.

The county and Oxnard Police have asked beach goers to keep moving on rather than sit or sunbathe on the sand.
