Man arrested after stabbing in Los Osos
LOS OSOS, Calif. - The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man in connection with an early morning stabbing in Los Osos.
Deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon call around 2:30 a.m. Thursday on the 1800 block of 10th Street.
When investigators arrived, they found a 34-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to the shoulder and back.
He was rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was treated and released.
Witnesses say the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Matthew Robert Hathaway of Los Osos, approached the victim’s home and broke a window.
According to deputies, a man and woman came outside in response and were attacked.
They say Hathaway assaulted the woman before fighting the man and stabbing him several times before running away.
Deputies arrested Hathaway at his home two blocks away from the victim's residence.
He was taken to the hospital and then booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on an assault with a deadly weapon charge.
