Juvenile killed in golf cart incident in Avila Beach
AVILA BEACH, Calif. -- A juvenile died from his injuries following a golf cart incident on Sunday afternoon in Avila Beach.
On Sunday around 1:25 p.m., San Luis Obispo California Highway Patrol received a call of a traffic collision involving a golf cart on Silver Oak Lane east of Lupine Canyon Road in Avila Beach.
Officers responded to the scene and determined that the golf cart was driven by a 16-year-old male on Silver Oak Lane before it was overturned after it drove onto a curb and an embankment.
The right-front passenger, a 13-year-old passenger was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
Alcohol and drugs are not contributing factors in this collision.
San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the boys' death.
San Luis Obispo California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident.
Both juveniles' identities were not released by officials.
