Deputies investigate after person is found dead in Santa Ynez Riverbed

Lompoc, Calif. -- Lompoc police received reports of a dead body at a transient campsite in the Santa Ynez Riverbed Thursday afternoon.

The Lompoc Police Department said it appears the person died of natural causes.

Officers were called to the area west of the H Street bridge just after 3 p.m., according to the Lompoc Police Department. The fire department and officers found the person, who was pronounced dead.

The identify of the person who died has not yet been released.
