Department of Housing and Community Development launches disaster recovery survey in Santa Barbara County

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. -- The California Department of Housing and Community Development announced the launch a housing recovery survey in Santa Barbara County on Tuesday.

The program is called RecoverCA Disaster Housing Assistance Survey.

The program is aimed at local residents who were impacted by the 2017-2018 disasters.

This survey will help the State Department of Housing and Community Development to assess the needs of homeowners, renters and/or landlords.

Residents who were affected by the following disasters below should take the survey:

  • October 2017 Wildfires (FEMA DR-4344) 
  • December 2017 Wildfires, Mudflows, and Debris Flows (FEMA DR-4353)
  • July through September 2018 Wildfires and High Winds (FEMA DR-4382)
  • November 2018 Wildfires (FEMA DR-4407)

Residents that were impacted by the October and December 2017 disasters are encouraged to apply for the "Owner Occupied Rehabilitation and reconstruction Program" in order to receive a grant to help rebuild their properties.
