City of Goleta says potential power shut off will not occur Sunday night

SoCal Edison has informed the City of Goleta that the potential power shut off for Sunday night has been averted and will not occur.

The City of Goleta reminds local residents that potential power shut offs may occur Sunday night between 6 p.m. to midnight in the Goleta area.

Southern California Edison may shut off power depending on weather conditions in the area to prevent potential wild fires.

The outage could potentially last more than 48 hours.

SoCal Edison potential outage zones will include two circuits within the City of Goleta: Ace and Trump circuits.

The Ace and Trump circuits lie next to each other and they cover neighborhoods mostly north of the 101 between Los Caneros and Winchester Canyon/Hollister Avenue.

The City of Goleta encourages residents that live in these areas to prepare in case the power is to shut off Sunday night.

They say the rest of Goleta is not under consideration for a shut off at this moment but the City will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide updates as more become available.
