Pismo Beach approved project to update pier plaza

The City of Pismo Beach approved a project on Tuesday to update the plaza around the pier. It is supposed to cost more than $6 million.

The project will include new bathrooms, a children’s play area, and even a slide to take you from the plaza to the sand. The city says this new space will transform the area around the pier while still paying homage to vintage Pismo Beach.

The project will remove six parking spaces in order to make room for these developments. The city says construction will begin on October 21st and the pier plaza to be completed by May 2020.
