More than 1,000 artgoers get creative at annual Chalk Festival in Downtown Old Orcutt

More than 1,000 artgoers got on their hands and knees to get creative at the annual Chalk Festival in Orcutt this weekend.

Every last Saturday of September, the city turns Downtown Old Orcutt into an explosion of chalk art masterpieces.

This year’s theme is “Feast on the Arts” highlighting the artist creation of the culinary arts.

In addition to drawing all over the streets with colored chalk, visitors got to enjoy live music, public art and community engagement.

The chalk festival featured more than two dozen arts and craft booths, nonprofit organizations, and culinary pop-ups and food trucks.
