United Way of Ventura County prepares for Day of Caring 2019

United Way of Ventura County will celebrate the 30th Annual Day of Caring on Saturday.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday at two different locations:

California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks FOOD Share in Oxnard

For the past 29 years, United Way of Ventura County’s Day of Caring has connected hundreds of volunteers to community organizations throughout Ventura County.

United Way works to create positive change in the community by engaging people in volunteering opportunities, the organization says. Their focus is on education, income and health.

Last year, over 550 individuals, families and teams volunteered at 29 project sites.

United Way of Ventura County began in 1945.
