Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office announces new Public Information Officer

Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown announced the new public information officer for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.

Raquel Zick will be replacing former PIO, Kelly Hoover, who has moved on to become the Community Relations Manager for the City of Goleta.

Zick began her career with Santa Barbara County in 2001 as an intake and release specialist for the Probation Department.

She has worked for the Sheriff’s Office since 2003.

She has served as a sheriff’s deputy, dispatcher, administrative office professional and most recently as the administrative assistant to the sheriff.

Zick has also worked on the Sheriff’s media team for several years.

She is a member of the Carpinteria Rotary Club and volunteers as a Boys Scouts Assistant Den Leader, Little League Team Mom and as a Read Across America volunteer.

She is the founder of the Santa Barbara County Women in Law Enforcement Group, a county-wide auxiliary group that unites women working in law enforcement field toward common goals.
