Non-profits door-to-door selling candy in San Luis Obispo

San Luis Obispo Police Department is aware of door-to-door candy sales that have occurred in the past several days. They say they appreciate the calls but these sales are not a crime. The sales are for non-profit fundraising.

Door-to-door sales is a constitutionally protected activity. Salespeople are no longer permitted to carry around a city permit with them. The permit requirement was rescinded in 2014.
