A safer walk to school for students at Rio Mesa high school in Oxnard

Students at Rio Mesa High School in Oxnard can now walk safely to campus.

The county public works completed a stretch of sidewalk near Strickland Acres along Central Avenue.

Here’s what the 8-foot sidewalk looks like.

There will be a ribbon cutting at Rio Mesa High School this Thursday to celebrate the improvements.
The ceremony begins at 9:00 a.m. on the front lawn of the high school.
