Coast Guard video shows smoke billowing from deadly Conception fire

A video posted by the United States Coast Guard shows the shocking imact of the fire that killed dozens aboard a well-known Santa Barbara-based diving boat.

The video shows smoke billowing from the 75-foot Conception Monday morning as Coast Guard boats circle the vessel.

A Coast Guard helicopter, hovering over the boat, captures the flames and smoke that poured from the charter boat.

The boat eventually sank about 20 yards off of Santa Cruz Island in 65-foot deep waters. 20 bodies have been recovered and more have been located in the wreckage of the Conception . The focus of the operation has now shifted from search and rescue to body recovery.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
