Known gang member caught with loaded gun and methamphetamine

A known gang member was arrested after he was caught with a loaded handgun and methamphetamine Thursday night.

According to the Lompoc Police Department, officers responded to the 1300 block of W. Maple Avenue shortly after 11:00 p.m. Thursday for a report of a man with a gun. Upon arrival, officers found the suspect, 32-year-old James Jones who was in possession of a loaded revolver and methampethamine.

Jones is a documented gang member and a conviced felon. He was arrested and booked into the Lompoc Jail, police said.
