Santa Barbara City Fire puts out two separate fires in a homeless encampment

Santa Barbara City Fire quickly put out two small vegetation fires in a homeless encampment in Santa Barbara Saturday afternoon.

One fire was on railroad tracks near Highway 101 which closed down Union Pacific Rail Lines and Amtrak in the area.

The other fire was on the Cabrillo off-ramp on Highway 101 which caused traffic to be diverted through one to two lanes according to the California Highway Patrol.

Santa Barbara City Fire is currently investigating the cause of the fires.

According to Santa Barbara City Fire, both Union Pacific Rail Lines and Amtrak are now open.
