Woman arrested in connection to Lompoc homicide, victim identified

The Lompoc Police Department have arrested a woman suspected of stabbing a man to death over the weekend in Lompoc .

Darlene Rachelle Ybarra , 35, was located Tuesday night at the residence on South J Street where the crime happened. Police had intended on interviewing Ybarra in connection to the death of 56-year-old Eric William Larsson. Larsson was renting a room at the residence.

Ybarra agreed to be interviewed and was taken to the police department to meet with detectives.

Police say Ybarra made incriminating statements during the interview and was arrested in connection to the muder of Larsson.

Ybarra’s bail is set at $2 million.

The death of Larsson is the second homicide in the city of Lompoc this year.
