Pair of felons arrested for possessing weapons, heroin, and meth

A pair of felons from Bakersfield were arrested after police caught them with drugs and firearms Thursday.

According to the Santa Maria Police Department, investigators served a warrant in the 2000 block of Preskier Lane Thursday night. Officers found 2 loaded handguns, 378 grams of methamphetamine, 136 grams of heroin, and several rounds of ammunition. One of the recovered handguns had been reported stolen.

Officers then arrested Bakersfield residents 43-year-old Robert Briseno and 47-year-old Michael Martinez who are both convicted felons. They were booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail where they were charged with felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of heroin for sale, transportation of methamphetamine and transportation of heroin, police said.
