Compliance check leads to arrest of 3 sex offenders in Santa Barbara County
Three registered sex offenders were arrested Thursday after law enforcement across Santa Barbara County conducted probation compliance checks in multiple locations.
The compliance checks focused on high-risk sex offenders on active probation or post-release community supervision related to child pornography and cyber sex crimes.
12 locations in the Santa Maria, Orcutt, Lompoc, Buellton and Solvang areas were searched and led to the arrest of three offenders who violated the terms of their release or probation. An additional felony arrest was made for possession of child pornography.
The Santa Barbara County Probation Department led the compliance checks with assistance from Santa Maria Police Department, Lompoc Police Department, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s and the FBI.
California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation also assisted and provided dogs that are trained to search for cell phones other illegal contraband.
