Lompoc shooting suspect turns himself in

The suspect in a shooting that took place at a Lompoc gas station earlier this month has turned himself into police.

Deshawn Lee Johnson, 46, turned himself into authorities with his lawyer at his side on Wednesday. He was booked into the Lompoc City Jail and then transported to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

Johnson is a suspect in a shooting that happened at the Conserv Fuel gas station at 801 East Ocean Ave. on Feb. 14.

Lompoc police executed a search warrant at Johnson’s residence and also discovered a large amount of items that are believed to be stolen.

Johnson could face attempted murder charges related to the shooting.
