Santa Maria hotels offer discounts to Santa Barbara County evacuees

As Santa Barbara County residents flee the city looking for dry shelter, hotels in North County are offering discounts for those being displaced by the dangerous weather.

One of the hotels offering a deal is the Santa Maria Radisson who said they had a full house during the fires and saw how difficult it was for displaced residents.

“In times like this people are devastated by all this. There are a lot of unknowns and they have enough to worry about. We provide this service to the community to help out where ever we can,” said Santa Maria Radisson office manager Phill Beitler.

The Radisson along with the Santa Maria Inn guarantee a lower rate for anyone who’s been forced to evacuate.

“We are offering fifteen dollars off our rack rate and we will wave the pet fees if they have to bring their pets along with them,” said Beitler.

The Raddison pet fee can rack in at fifty dollars, but for evacuees, pets get to lodge for free.

The Hilton Garden in Lompoc is also offering discounts for evacuees and says they can accommodate for residents or families with long term needs.

As of now, they are not at full capacity and their doors are open for any evacuees who need shelter.
