Price hike for digital fingerprints used in pre-employment background checks

The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors has approved a price increase to obtain digital fingerprints which are used to send to the Department of Justice or Federal Bureau of Investigations for a pre-employment background check, according to the sheriff’s department.

‘Live Scan’ fingerprint stations are located in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria.

If you have a billing number the cost for the service is now $24. If you do not have a billing number the cost is $56 to send to the DOJ, $73 to the DOJ and FBI and $98 to send to the DOJ and FBI for any position that includes work with children.
