Firework goes off in man’s hand causing severe damage, according to police

Fireworks reportedly caused severe damage to one person’s hand tonight in Oxnard.

Police said they were called to East Date Road near Oxnard Boulevard for a report of gunfire, instead, it turned out to be a fireworks incident.

Firefighters and paramedics were immediately called to the scene.

The condition of the victim has not been released, but unconfirmed reports from people on the scene said the man’s hand was severely damaged in the incident.
