85-year-old pedestrian dies after struck by car in Santa Maria

An 85-year-old man has died from his injuries after being struck by a car in Santa Maria Wednesday night.

Police say the accident happened just before 6 p.m. Rodolfo Tovar Rodriguez was found to have serious injuries when officers arrived. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Santa Maria Police say witnesses and the driver of the vehicle provided statements to officers. Officials have not released information on who may have been at fault for the accident.
