Special trip for residents with disabilities makes for a memorable holiday

A special holiday trip for Santa Barbara area residents with disabilities will be one to remember. It took them to Disneyland.

The New Directions Travel group organized the annual four-day trip for about 50 people.

They left Wednesday from Goleta.

The morning departure came after a brass band with members of the Santa Barbara Trombone society playing holiday music, and those attending getting gifts.

The trip is one of many ways New Directions Travel provides outings for the disabled throughout the world.

It also helps them remain familiar with all that goes into a vacation on the road, traveling by a variety of different transportation modes, and getting through a packed amusement park.
