An apartment fire in Santa Maria has displaced a family of three.

It broke out before noon Thursday on the 330 block of North Benwiley Avenue.

The fire was quickly put out.

Officials say the apartment suffered mostly smoke damage.

Firefighters add that they found four propane tanks inside the apartment, but they’re still investigating the cause.
