The countdown is on: Christmas delivery dates

The clock is ticking for last minute holiday shoppers.

Packages are big business and it’s not too late to ship in time for Christmas but the longer you wait, the more it’s going to cost you.

‘Tis the season for long lines at the post office.

“I am hoping for the best, If it gets there after the 24th, I’m totally okay with that as long as they see I sent it before the 24th I’m good,” said Karina Padilla.

Recommended send by dates for delivery in the United States before Christmas are this Thursday, Dec. 20, for First Class and Priority Mail and Saturday Dec. 21, for Priority Mail.

Fed Ex and UPS have options if packages are sent between now and Christmas Day but they charge more for the services.

Procrastinators may want to consider sending an e-gift cards since they are emailed they will arrive on time.
