MLB pitcher and former Gaucho Shane Bieber spreads holiday cheer at Cottage Hospital

Shane Bieber has wonderful memories of Santa Barbara and he made some more by spreading holiday cheer at Cottage Hospital.

Bieber met with young people who are spending part of their holiday in the hospital. He talked baseball with them and signed autographs.

He pitched at UCSB from 2014-2016 and as the ace of the staff, he helped the Gauchos advance to the programs only College World Series appearance in 2016.

The Cleveland Indians made him a fourth round selection in the 2016 Major League Draft.

Bieber excelled in the minor leagues and he made his MLB debut on his 23rd birthday on May 31, 2018.

He had a terrific rookie season going 11-5 with the Indians.

Bieber is spending the off-season living near UCSB with some former Gaucho teammates.
