Inmate walks away from prison camp in Lompoc

Authorities are searching for an inmate that escaped from the Satellite Prison Camp in Lompoc.

32-year-old Armando Penunuri was discovered missing on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018.

Officials with the U.S. Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Prisons say Penunuri was serving a 120-month sentence for Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute, and distribution of Oxycodone, Methamphetamine, and Marijuana.

Penunuri is described as a Hispanic man with black hair, brown eyes, 5-feet 10-inches tall, weighing approximately 195 pounds.

Anyone with information regarding Penunuri’s whereabouts or this case is asked to call the U.S. Marshals Service at 805-346-2728.

Satellite Prison Camp in Lompoc is a minimum security facility adjacent to the U.S. Penitentiary currently housing approximately 440 inmates.
