Man stabbed while walking dog in Ventura
A man has been injured after he was stabbed while walking his dog in Ventura Thursday night, according to police.
The stabbing happened on the 1400 block of Chipmunk Circle at 4:06 p.m.
It started when a suspect and his brother came up to the victim and his dog. Police later identified the suspect as Carlos Gonzalez.
Police say Gonzalez kicked the victim’s dog and continued to egg him on until they eventually got into a physical fight.
While the two were in the fight, Gonzalez pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim twice in the upper body, police said.
Officers were able to contact Gonzalez and took him into custody.
Gonzalez has been booked into the Ventura County Pretrial Detention Facility on assault with a deadly weapon charges.
The victim has moderate injuries, but they are not life-threatening.
