Ventura College football prepares for first championship game appearance

Ventura College is going where no other Pirates football team has ventured, the State Championship.

VC will play Laney College on Saturday at 1pm in Sacramento in the title game.

The Pirates have had a magical playoff run, winning at Canyons to avenge VC’s only loss of the season.

Ventura College then handed Riverside a rare home loss to capture the Southern California Football Association Championship.

The Pirates feature great balance on offense behind a line that has been successful in run blocking and protecting the quarterback.

Ventura College enters the title game with an 11-1 record.

Laney College is located in Oakland and the Eagles beat Fresno City College to advance to the championship.
