KEYT’s John Palminteri gets Santa Barbara palm tree plaque dedication

If you’re walking in the 800 block of Anacapa Street in Downtown Santa Barbara, you’ll now have a new attraction to visit.

Santa Barbara Beautiful, a nonprofit organization dedicated to maintaining the city’s beauty, presented KEYT NewsChannel 3’s John Palminteri with the first-ever “King Palm” award on Tuesday.

During the intimate ceremony, a palm tree and plaque dedication honored Palminteri’s work keeping the community informed during the 2017 Thomas Fire and subsequent Montecito mudflow.

This palm tree dedicated to the legendary newscaster can be seen in the 800 block of Anacapa Street, just down from the U.S. Post Office.
