Over 2,300 customers lose power in Santa Maria

A downed power line caused 2,347 customers to lose power in southern Santa Maria.

It happened around 12:35 Friday afternoon near the intersection of Betteravia Road and Thornburg Street.

PG&E crews were able to restore power to most of the customers within an hour.

Police blocked off Betteravia Road while the downed line was repaired.

A PG&E spokesman says crews are looking into why the power line went down.
