Ventura volunteer thankful for restored car giveaway

Cheyanne Dominguez is thankful for her new Volkswagen Beetle 2000. She was nominated by community members to win the car from Concours Motor’s “Wheels to Shine,” program. Owner JR Luna donates a car each year to a deserving and contributing member of Ventura’s community. The 20 has overcome challenges and helped others along the way. Dominquez lost her father to a homicide. Since then she has donated her time to mentor youth and feed the homeless at Catholic Charities on the Ventura Ave. S he recently raised money to fund a trip to Uganda where she was part of a team distributed reusable feminine hygiene products to girls and women.

Dominguez said the car will help her further her education. She plans to transfer to a university to finish her college degree.
