Injury rollover crash shuts down Old Coast Highway in Santa Barbara

A two-vehicle crash sent an SUV on its side and closed down Old Coast Highway in Santa Barbara Monday night.

Santa Barbara police shut off the street at 8:20 p.m. when the accident occurred due to the damage and debris over all lanes.

Fire crews say they found one person in a Dodge Durango with injuries that required a transport to Cottage Hospital. The type of injuries was not known.

The SUV reportedly collided with a disabled recreational vehicle on the street that runs adjacent to U.S. Highway 101 and the Montecito Country Club.

The SUV had a tire and rim sheered off from the vehicle when it hit the back left side of the motorhome.

The person in the motorhome was not hurt. Both vehicles had to be towed.

The street was closed for at least an hour while the accident investigation took place by patrol officers.
