Students accused in Lompoc area school burglaries

Three Cabrillo High School students are accused of burglarizing Lompoc area schools.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s office says the suspects stole $5,000 worth of laptops and other items from Buena Vista Elementary School, Cabrillo High School, and Maple High School.

A school resource deputy got permission from the parents to search their houses for evidence. Deputies found almost all of the stolen items in each of the homes.

The students were contacted at school, and released to their parents. The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review once the investigation is finished.
