Musicians and others honored on final day of FestForums in Santa Barbara

Festival-related topics were the subject of forums at the annual FestForums at Hilton in Santa Barbara.

Topics included holograms, cannabis and venues.

The final day afternoon was full of comedy and entertainment.

A keynote forum included a Spinal Tap reunion between Harry Shearer and Christopher Guest.

Guest presented Shearer with a Lifetime Achievement Award with an introduction that he claimed was written by Shearer.

Shearer said, “This is my first Lifetime Achievement Award, although in fairness it is also my first lifetime.”

Dennis Quaid and Michael McDonald won awards too.

McDonald thanked FestForums for supporting creativity.

“FestForums and organizations like it perpetuate the spirit of creativity that Santa Barbara has and I am so proud to be a part of,” said McDonald.

Sponsor Sierra Nevada was also honored. The Chico-based Pale Ale maker suffered losses in the Camp Fire but kept its commitment to FestForums after making a major donation to fire victims.

Other businesses filled an exhibition hall at the Hilton including GrowCharge. GrowCharge helped people keep their phones charged in secure lockers. For every festival rental the company makes a commitment to plant trees.

People lined up to enjoy Selffee, an edible selfies cookie maker. The company create selfie cookies, latte’s and other treats for large events.
