UCSB pummels Montana State in Saturday matinee

UCSB came ready to play in its second home game of the season, handling Montana State 88-69 on Saturday.

The Gauchos (3-1) followed up a dominant win over Division III Cal Lutheran with another well-rounded performance. UCSB started the game on a 13-0 run and never looked back. Ar’mond Davis scored a game-high 22 points, and JaQuori McLaughlin added 19 for UCSB.

Montana State (1-4) could only get within 10 points in the second half. Tyler Hall led the Bobcats with 21 points and Ladan Ricketts chipped in 12 points on four three-pointers.

UCSB plays its next game on Friday in Boise, Idaho against Portland State.
