Wedding ceremony and reception saved after tragedies in Ventura County

A Ventura County woman’s wedding was put on hold after two recent tragedies. What happened next is a story about the kindness in others.

The shooting at the Borderline Bar and Grill happened right across the street from where the rehearsal dinner was supposed to take place.

Then the area was evacuated due to fires that broke out after the shooting. The wedding was canceled.

But the couple was still determined to make it work. They began looking for a place they could hold the wedding last minute.

The Poinsettia Pavilion in Ventura squeezed in the wedding and a mini reception and did not charge the couple any fees.

Now the couple is living happily ever after with a well-deserved honeymoon in Costa Rica.

The bride and groom met while attending Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.
