Water rescue operation performed in Ventura Harbor after boat collides with sandbar

Firefighters reportedly had to perform a water rescue in the Ventura Harbor Thursday morning after a fishing boat collided with a sandbar.

According to the Ventura County Fire Department, officials received reports of a 60-foot fishing boat crashing into a sandbar in Ventura Harbor and sending multiple people overboard at 4:00 a.m. Thursday. Swimmers were deployed and made contact with the boat.

No injuries were reported, firefighters said.

As of 5:40 a.m., emergency crews were reportedly towing the boat off the sandbar.
