UC Davis stomps Cal Poly in Battle for the Golden Horseshoe
Despite racing out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter, Cal Poly saw the visiting UC Davis Aggies roar back for a 52-10 win Saturday afternoon in the Battle for the Golden Horseshoe at Alex G. Spanos Stadium.
Joe Protheroe notched his fifth straight 100-yard rushing performance for the Mustangs (2-5). His 35-yard touchdown run was Cal Poly’s only trip to the end zone.
Jake Maier threw five touchdowns for UC Davis (6-1). The Aggies remained unbeaten in Big Sky play and play at Montana next week.
Cal Poly visits Northern Arizona next Saturday.
