Driver arrested after crashing into a Lompoc Church

A driver hits several parked cars and then slams into a church before fleeing the scene in Lompoc.

“Turn off the car and get out the car now!” said a viewer in a Snapchat video who was at the scene.

Lompoc Police say it happened around 2:16 p.m. near the intersection of S. H Street and E. Cypress Avenue.

The driver, Tommy Dodson, hit numerous parked cars and also crashed into the Grace Temple Chruch, according to Police. Dodson then fled the scene before officers could arrive.

Police eventually found Dodson and airlifted him to Cottage Hospital for injuries.

Dodson is charged with felony hit-and-run.
