Lucky Mega Millions retailers on the Central Coast

Lottery officials have increased the estimated jackpot for the Mega Millions prize to $667 million, making it the third-largest grand prize in Lottery history.

The largest jackpot was won in January 2016 at $1.6 billion.

The odds of winning this hefty prize is one in 302 million, according to the Associated Press.

If you are looking to try your chances, you might want to consider these historically lucky Central Coast retailers.

Allans Market Wine & Lotto located at 2521 N. Ventura Road in Port Hueneme has the record of selling six winning tickets in California, according to the lotteries website.

“We’re always on top in selling lottery tickets people come from
everywhere,” said Touni Asaad, owner of Allan’s Market & Lotto.

Asaad has run Allan’s for 18 years. He says lines usually wrap out the door
when a jackpot gets this big.

“It’s usually packed here,” said Asaad. “People want to try their luck.”

“This is the lucky store, so that’s why we come here,” said Maricela
Preciado.

Asaad says he expects to sell 20 thousand tickets by the end of the night.

“Everyone is trying to get that winning ticket,” said Neva Gutierrez.

If a winning ticket is sold at Allan’s liquor shop, Asaad could receive a
prize of up to $1 million.

Other “winning” retailers on the Central Coast include the 7-Eleven at 5810 Hollister Ave in Goleta, the 7-Eleven at 620 W. Ocean Ave in Lompoc, and Orcutt Liquor at 105 E. Clark Ave.
