Santa Barbara County Firefighters hit the beach for “Foam Fest”

Santa Barbara County Firefighters hit the beach on Saturday for “Foam Fest.”

The inaugural event took place at Santa Clause Lane in Carpinteria.

Participants were encouraged to dress in costume and catch waves on foam boards for a good cause.

“It is a little unusual but we are out here just to have fun and embrace where we live, enjoy the beach, and have fun on some soft boards,” said Engineer Blake Herman with the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

The money raised benefits the Santa Barbara County Firefighters charity fund which gives money to local youth programs.
