Driver and children rescued from car-on-car crash

An out of control vehicle ran up the side of a parked car leaving the occupants briefly trapped Saturday night in Santa Barbara.

The crash occurred about 9 p.m. on Arrellaga Street.

The sedan was going east near Castillo Street and ran into and up the side of an unoccupied parked car.

For a short period of time, Santa Barbara City Fire officials said the occupants described as a driver and two children were not able to get out of the tipped car.

There were no serious injuries.

The driver was interviewed by police at the scene. The street was closed during the cleanup.

The cause remains under investigation.
