Driver crashes into Santa Barbara jewelry store

A car crashes into a jewelry store at a plaza in Santa Barbara during lunch time.

An elderly man drove his two-door white sedan over a concrete parking stop and crashed into “POSH” jewelry store at Loreta Plaza around 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

An off-duty firefighter was having lunch about 10 feet away from the sedan’s path. After the crash, the firefighter assessed the driver and a passenger and found neither of them had injuries.

Despite the lunchtime rush, the fire department says no one was injured in this crash.

The Santa Barbara Police are investigating the cause of this accident.

The Fire Department would like to remind everyone always to wear a seatbelt and be familiar with the vehicle you are driving.
