Atascadero gas station robbery suspect arrested in Santa Barbara
Authorities have arrested a suspect they say robbed a Chevron gas station in Atascadero and is connected to a similar crime in King City, California.
The Atascadero Police Department says 41-year-old San Diego resident Frank Anthony Ramos Jr. was arrested in Santa Barbara on Sept. 25. Investigators learned that Ramos was driving a stolen car out of San Jose, which authorities say was used to get away after the crimes.
Atascadero police investigators found evidence linking back to the crimes during a search of Ramos’ car.
Ramos is accused of entering a Chevron gas station in the 8900 block of Montecito Avenue in Atascadero shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 20, 2018. Police say he brandished a large knife and stole alcohol before running away.
Ramos is currently in custody at the Santa Barbara County Jail on charges of a stolen vehicle and a parole hold. The Atascadero Police Department is seeking robbery charges against Ramos with the SLO County District Attorney’s Office.
