The curtain goes up tonight at the Marjorie Luke Theater for a special documentary about elephants and dangerous elephant rescues.

“Love and Bananas” helps uncover the plight of the Asian elephant in Thailand.

The movie focuses on conservationists who travel 500 miles across Thailand to free a blind, 70-year-old female elephant.

“Love and Bananas” starts at 7:00 p.m. Friday night at the Marjorie Luke Theatre on the campus of Santa Barbara Jr. High School at 721 E. Cota Street.

Tickets will be available at the door starting at 6:00 p.m. for $20 dollars apiece.
