Verizon 911 outage issue resolved in San Luis Obispo County

San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s office says the 911 outage issue was resolved at 9:06 a.m. The cause of the outage is not known at this time.

Verizon customers in San Luis Obispo County are reportedly unable to make emergency calls by dialing 911 Friday morning.

According to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office, Verizon has notified authorities about an unidentified issue withe 911 service for Verizon subscribers in San Luis Obispo County.

At this time, Verizon is working to correct their issue. Verizon customers in San Luis Obispo County who need emergency assistance are advised to call the fire department or local law enforcement agency directly. Text messages to 911 are still working, deputies said.

It is unclear when the issue will be resolved.
