UCSB Basketball gives back to Goleta Boys and Girls Club

It was a Friday filled with fun when the UCSB men’s and women’s basketball teams spent a recent afternoon at the Goleta Boys and Girls Club.

The players each paired up with a kid at the club for a game of Simon Says as well as some ping pong and air hockey. The teams also spent time talking to the kids about growing up and attending college.

Most of the kids at the club come from challenging circumstances and it benefits them to see young adults who are succeeding in life on and off of the basketball court.

UCSB men’s head coach Joe Pasternack said that the Gauchos will be partnering with all of the area United Boys and Girls Club, visiting each one and getting the kids to come out to the games free of charge.

Both the men and women Gauchos open up the regular season in early November. For more information on UCSB, visit www.ucsbgauchos.com.
