High end cars on the Central Coast and Monterey Penninsula for annual event

Luxury, classic, muscle, vintage, high-end European and one-of-a-kind cars have been seen on the Central Coast in big numbers this week en route to Monterey Car Week, an annual event.

Collectors and “gear-head” car lovers are gathering by the thousands for events.

Auctions, displays and gatherings involving car clubs are taking place from Cannery Row to Pebble Beach.

Highway 101 from Malibu to the event was a route used by many cars involved in the “Fuel Run” earlier this week.

The California Highway Patrol monitored the cars closely on the freeway and San Marcos Pass.

One Audi A8 burned up in a tragic incident outside of Ventura. The driver was not hurt. There were an estimated 100 cars involved in that drive.

Many of the cars that came through Wednesday are expected to come back down the coast this evening and Monday.
